NBC’s Manifest, brought to India by Amazon Prime Video, had everything going for it. A good cast and fairly compelling story line, much of which was still open ended when it was decided to cancel it at the end of season 3. Days before NBC’s cancellation announcement, the show dropped on Netflix and has, since then, not only found a new audience, but also topped streaming rankings in the US and other markets. Shortly after, Netflix began negotiations with NBC to give the drama one final season to wrap up all loose ends.

Manifest is the story of Montego Air Flight 828, from Jamaica to New York City, which barring a brief run-in with turbulence makes its scheduled landing in New York with its 191 passengers. But what was a flight of a few hours for them, was actually five and a half years away, with everyone being presumed dead. Something unexplained has happened to the 191 passengers, which, the NSA is working on figuring out.

Also trying to get to the bottom of it is Maths professor Ben Stone (Josh Dallas), who was on the plane with his seriously-ill son Cal, and sister Michaela (Melissa Roxburgh), an NYPD detective. Their mission is to decipher the voices and visions that the passengers hear and experience, which, more often than not, help save lives. But what is causing these ‘callings’? Can the passengers of Flight 828 ever truly return to a normal life, or, for that matter, be safe?

According to the new teaser, the events of Season 4 take place a good two years after those of Season 3, where Angelina (Holly Taylor) had fatally stabbed Grace Stone (Athena Karkanis) and taken off with her infant daughter Eden. Cal, who’d disappeared mysteriously after touching the tailfin of Flight 828, reappears by his dying mother’s side, but as an older version of himself. By the looks of the Season 4 teaser, most of the main cast are still around, but something terrifying is coming and it’s all connected to them.

Netflix will give die-hard fans of the supernatural drama 20 episodes, split in two parts of 10 each, within which any loose ends will be tied up and the first set will drop on November 4, which, if you pay close attention to the teaser, you will realize is the date on which the 828ers returned to NYC.
