Manichitrathazhu is indeed a true definition of iconic cinema. This masterpiece, which was created by veteran filmmaker Fazil and writer Madhu Muttom, emerged as one of the most beloved films ever produced by the Malayalam film industry over time. The extraordinary writing and making, Mohanlal, Shobana, and Suresh Gopi’s exceptional performances, and the memorable music made the film worth many watches. If the recent updates are to be believed, the remastering process of Fazil’s cult classic film is currently under progress and is nearing the final stages. By mid-2024, Malayalam cinema audiences will have a chance to witness the magic of Manichitrathazhu on big screens across Kerala. However, the makers might opt for an even wider release, following the footsteps of Thalapathy Vijay’s blockbuster film Ghilli, which had a re-release across the globe recently.
According to recent updates, the Mohanlal-Shobana-Suresh Gopi starrer will hit theatres again on July 12 or August 17, 2024. The grapevine suggests that the makers are planning to finalise the Manichitrathazhu re-release date only after the team completes the remastering process. But the Fazil directorial has a high chances of being released again on July 17, 2024. The team members will officially announce the re-release date of the film, along with a series of brand new posters and an official trailer, very soon.
