Mammootty to play villain in the Jithin K Jose directorial? Major updates REVEALED

Mammootty is all set to return to film sets after a quick break, with the upcoming untitled project directed by Jithin K Jose. The movie, touted to be a crime thriller, is reportedly set to start rolling in a few days. As reported earlier, the project is bankrolled by the megastar himself, under his home banner Mammootty Kampany. Popular actor Vinayakan is expected to play a pivotal role in the film. Meanwhile, new updates suggest that Mammootty is playing the antagonist in the untitled film.

Mammootty to play the antagonist in the Jithin K Jose film?

If the recent updates are to be believed, Mammootty is all set to play a negative character yet again, in the upcoming Jithin K Jose directorial. The latest reports suggest that the legendary actor is not playing the protagonist, but is appearing as the antagonist, in the yet-to-be-titled film. Vinayakan, on the other hand, has been roped in to play the protagonist in the film, which is scripted by director Jithin, himself. Some unconfirmed reports also suggest that both the actors are set to play cops, in the film.

As per the reports, the much-awaited project will start rolling in Nagercoil, Tamil Nadu, in a couple of days. Mammootty, however, is reportedly not a part of the film's Nagercoil schedule. Reportedly, the megastar will join the shoot only by the second week of October 2024. But the makers are planning to officially launch the much-awaited project with a pooja ceremony, once it starts rolling. The team is yet to finalize the rest of the star cast of the untitled film.

When it comes to the technical crew, Roby Varghese Raj, the renowned cinematographer who made his directorial debut with the blockbuster movie Kannur Squad, has reportedly joined the team as the director of photography. Sushin Shyam, the celebrated musician is said to be in talks to compose the songs and the original score. The untitled project is expected to hit the theatres by the first half of 2025.
