Mammootty has packed schedule before he concludes 2021, with the actor being part of a Telugu spy-thriller, a Netflix anthology and the fifth instalment of the hugely successful CBI Sethurama Iyer franchise.
While the makers of the CBI 5 have been waiting for over a year and half for the film to go on floors, latest reports suggest that the movie will begin shooting on November 29 in Ernakulam.
Mammootty, who will be reprising the iconic role of sleuth Sethurama Iyer for the fifth time in the film, has allotted 60 days for the shoot of the K Madhu directorial that is scripted by SN Swamy.
Apart from Mammootty and Mukesh, the film will also have Saikumar, Renji Panicker and Ramesh Pisharody in pivotal roles. The film will have Sethurama Iyer investigating a series of murders known as Basket Killings.
The actor, who finished shooting for Ratheena Sharshad’s Puzhu recently, has headed to Budapest, Hungary today. He is expected to begin shooting for Akhil Akkineni’s Agent, in which he plays an army officer, in the first week of November. The pan Indian film is directed by Surender Reddy.
After the movie, Mammootty will join Lijo Jose Pellissery’s segment for the Netflix anthology, which is based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s short stories. This will mark the first time that the acclaimed director and superstar are teaming up.
Meanwhile, the post production work of Amal Neerad’s Bheeshma Parvam, which has Mammootty playing the role of a gangster, has begun in Kochi. While the makers are yet to take a call on the movie’s release platform, it’s widely believed that the film will release in theatres with cinema halls in Kerala reopening from October 25.
