Seems like rumours about Mammootty re-entering Telugu with Akhil Akkineni’s upcoming spy thriller Agent is true. The megastar is set to fly to Europe on October 20 and will reportedly join the team in Budapest for the shoot of the film, directed by Surender Reddy.
While there has been no official confirmation regarding Mammootty’s casting, reports suggest that the actor will be playing an army officer in the film, which has already completed a schedule in Hyderabad. Earlier this year, there were also reports that Mammootty was offered a massive sum to be part of the movie and that he would be playing the antagonist in the film.
Mammootty has reportedly allotted 10 days for the movie, after which he will return to India and start work on Lijo Jose Pellissery’s segment in the Netflix anthology. That movie too will have scenes shot abroad, in Sri Lanka.
In Agent, Akhil plays a spy and the shoot of the movie will also be held in Kashmir and New Delhi, according to reports. Mammootty had earlier played the lead role of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy.
The megastar recently completed the shoot of Ratheena Sharshad’s Puzhu, which also has Parvathy as part of the cast. In a social media post soon after the film wrapped up, the actor said it was a “progressive and ambitious film”. Coincidentally, the actor also be seen playing a role with shades of gray in the movie. He also has Amal Neerad’s Bheeshma Parvam set for release soon in which he plays a gangster. The movie also stars Telugu actress Anasuya Bharadwaj.
