Kaathal The Core director, Jeo Baby, reveals that an emotional scene in the movie, which has been receiving a lot of praise, was improvised by the leading Mammootty on the spot.

Mammootty has been receiving immense love from the audience and critics for his performance in Kaathal The Core. The megastar essayed the role of Mathew Devassy, a closet homosexual in the movie. And director Jeo Baby has now revealed that one of the best scenes in Kaathal The Core was improvised by Mammootty on the spot.
Mammootty improvised the emotional scene with Jyotika
For the uninitiated, Mathew Devassy’s emotional breakdown in front of his wife Omana (Jyothika) and his father are the two most important scenes in the movie. Mammootty as Mathew and Jyotika as Omana delivered exceptional performances in the scene, which has been receiving positive responses from the audience.
However, the megastar didn’t perform the scene as it was written in the script. According to Jeo, the veteran actor improvised on the spot as he was performing it in front of the camera. The dialogue ‘Daivame’ (oh god) was not a part of the scene, but it was added by Mammootty.
However, after performing the scene, the leading man asked the filmmaker to remove the scene or reshoot it if he was not satisfied with it. The veteran actor even offered to re-dub the scene if the dialogue was too loud for the film, which is shot using sink-sound technology. But after watching the scene, Jeo decided to go ahead with it as it was extremely effective.
Mammootty thanked Jyotika after the performance
Jeo also revealed that the legendary actor had a special conversation with the leading lady, Jyotika, after wrapping up this crucial scene. Interestingly, Mammootty personally thanked his co-star for her creative input in the scene. The filmmaker added that he hadn’t given any instructions to the actors before shooting the scene on how to perform it. However, Mammootty and Jyotika had a clear idea of how to bring the scene to life.
