The makers of Mammootty's next project have unveiled its title today (September 7) with a first poster on the occasion of the actor's birthday. The film, titled Dominic and The Ladies' Purse, is directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, marking his first collaboration with the Malayalam megastar. In addition to giving away Mammootty's character, the poster also alluded to the genre the movie is set in.
He is depicted in a bathrobe against a wall featuring movie posters and a suspects board. The actor is undoubtedly portraying an investigator, and the main piece of evidence he possesses is the handbag of a woman, as depicted in the poster.

The movie, billed as a crime drama, began shooting in Kochi in July. According to the latest reports, Mammootty and Gautham Menon have finished filming in Kochi and are all set to relocate to Munnar to finish the remaining scenes. The Munnar schedule for the movie is anticipated to be short, ending in less than two weeks.
In supporting roles in the film are Gokul Suresh, Lenaa, and Viji Venkatesh. The movie was announced earlier in June, with the cast and crew sharing pictures of the puja ceremony on various social media platforms. According to reports, Darbuka Siva is composing the project's soundtracks, marking his Malayalam debut. The editing is done by Anthony, and Vishnu Dev is the cinematographer. The much awaited movie is funded by Mammootty's production house, Mammootty Kampany.
The rumour has it that the megastar's role is completely unrelated to his earlier cop roles. Sources claim that the Bramayugam star plays a lazy and light-hearted character in the movie. On the other hand, the film tells a distinctive investigative storyline. The project is anticipated to open in cinemas in December, and the director and his team intend to begin post-production as soon as the shoot concludes.
