The megastar is on a signing spree and is planning to team up with both senior filmmakers and young talents, for his upcoming projects. If the recent updates are to be believed, Mammootty is in talks to play the lead role in veteran filmmaker Hariharan’s upcoming project.
If the recent updates are to be believed, iconic actor-director duo Mammootty and Hariharan are currently in talks, for an upcoming Malayalam film. According to the rumour mills, the legendary actor and veteran filmmaker are planning to team up for an upcoming period drama film. The grapevine suggests that the untitled project will be bankrolled by Venu Kunnappilly, under the popular banner, Kavya Film Company. If things go as planned, the duo might make the big announcement, by the first quarter of 2025.
In that case, the upcoming untitled project might mark Mammootty and director Hariharan’s onscreen reunion, after a long gap of over 16 years. The celebrated actor-director duo previously teamed up in 2009, for the highly acclaimed period biographical drama film, Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja. The movie, which was penned by legendary writer MT Vasudevan Nair, features Mammootty as the titular character. Kerala Varma Pazhassi Raja is now available for streaming, on Disney+ Hotstar.
As reported earlier, Mammootty will be next seen in the upcoming Gautham Vasudev Menon directorial Dominic And The Ladies’ Purse, which is gearing up for a January 2025 release. The megastar is currently busy with the second schedule filming of the upcoming Mahesh Narayanan directorial, which also stars Mohanlal in a key role. Bazooka, the upcoming Deeno Dennis directorial, and the untitled Jithin K Jose directorial, are expected to hit the big screens, by the second quarter of 2025.
