Bheeshma Parvam’s release date has been locked! For fans, who have been waiting for almost 15 years for Mammootty and director Amal Neerad to team up after Big B, the wait will be over in March. The team had announced the release date of the film ahead of its trailer release on February 11.

OTTplay had earlier reported that the makers were aiming at a March 3 release, which will also see Bheeshma Parvam go head-to-head with Dulquer Salmaan’s Tamil-Telugu bilingual Hey Sinamika in theatres outside Kerala and multiplexes in the State.

But the bigger clash will be between Tovino Thomas’ Naaradhan and the Mammootty-starrer – both of which will hit theatres across the world on March 3. Naaradhan, which is directed by Aashiq Abu, will mark the third collaboration between the filmmaker and Tovino after their hugely acclaimed films Virus and Mayanadhi. Tovino too is fresh off the massive success of the superhero film, Minnal Murali, and would be looking to continue that momentum with Naaradhan, which also has Anna Ben as part of the cast.

Bheeshma Parvam though would have more release centres – considering it’s Mammootty’s biggest release since the pandemic. The movie, which is set in the mid 1980s, has the megastar playing a former gangster, who is forced to return to his old ways after his family is threatened. The film also has Soubin Shahir, Shine Tom Chacko, Nadiya Moidu, Veena Nandakumar, Sreenath Bhasi, Dileesh Pothan and Anasuya Bharadwaj.

Meanwhile, Tovino’s Naaradhan also has an ensemble cast featuring Sharafudheen, Vijayaraghavan, Joy Mathew, Dileesh Nair and Indrans. Tovino, in a recent interview with OTTplay, told us that the movie is not a critique of today’s media but deals with relevant issues. He also explained that he is sure that the movie will work with the audience because of Aashiq Abu’s confidence in the film, scripted by Charlie scriptwriter Unni R.
