KS Chithra and Sooraj Santhosh’s soothing vocals add an emotional layer to the romance of Fahadh Faasil and Nimisha Sajayan’s characters in Mahesh Narayanan’s upcoming political thriller Malik. The song, which is composed by Sushin Shyam and is penned by Anwar Ali, was released on Monday through Fahadh’s social media page.

The visuals of the track are set in Lakshadweep. The viewers also get to see the love story of Fahadh’s Sulaiman and Nimisha’s Mihrunissa evolve in the song, which is beautifully shot by Sanu John Varghese.

Actor Vinay Forrt in an earlier interview with us had spoken about how nostalgic the song had made everyone feel. “Dinesh and I were talking a few days ago if we would ever do such a film again. We travelled together for six months; the movie was shot in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Colachel, Kanyakumari and Lakshadweep. It was a journey. Right after the song Theerame released on Saturday, I listened to it 10 times. It made me very emotional because the track was the backdrop during our shoot in Lakshadweep,” he told us.

Meanwhile, Mahesh had earlier told us that the movie also has love, hatred, revenge and resistance. Malik, which is touted to be the most expensive film in Fahadh’s career, is set to drop on Amazon Prime Video on July 15.

The movie, scripted by Mahesh, has the Malayalam star playing a leader of a coastal village from the age of 20 to 57 and its story spans from the 1960s to the current era. The film also has Joju George and Dileesh Pothan in pivotal roles.
