Here’s the list of Malayalam movies to catch this weekend on OTTs and theatres

Last week saw a deluge of Malayalam releases on OTT platforms with as many as four big movies hitting various streaming platforms. Tovino Thomas’ Neelavelicham, Soubin Shahir’s Ayalvaashi, Basil Joseph’s Kadina Kadoramee Andakadaham and Vineeth Kumar’s Simon Daniel were some of the big releases on OTT platforms, while Urvashi and Balu Varghese’s Charles Enterprises and Lukman Avaran’s Jackson Bazaar Youth hit theatres.
This week is comparatively quieter in that regard, but it will still see the release on three movies including Anna Ben and Arjun Ashokan’s comedy entertainer Thrishanku hitting theatres as well as Fahadh Faasil’s Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum releasing on OTT. Here’s the list of this week’s latest Malayalam releases for you to pick from.
Pachuvum Atbutha Vilakkum

Fahadh Faasil returns to comedy in Akhil Sathyan’s family entertainer, which is set in Mumbai, Kerala and Goa. The film, which also has Anjana Jayaprakash, Viji Venkatesh and Dhwani Rajesh, revolves around a youngster named Pachu, who runs an ayurveda franchisee in Mumbai, accompanying an older lady during a train journey before she decides to get down in Goa for her own mission. How Pachu brings about changes in the lives of three women form the plot of the movie, which also has Mukesh and Vineeth in pivotal roles.
Trishanku

Anna Ben and Arjun Ashokan team up for this fun, comedy entertainer that has them essay the characters of Megha and Sethu, who decide to elope. They, however, are soon forced to drop their plan when Sethu’s younger sister elopes on the same day, leaving him and his uncles to undertake a journey from Kerala to Mangalore in search for her. The movie is directed by debutant Achyuth Vinayak and also has Nandu, Suresh Krishna and Krishnakumar as part of the cast.

Director VK Prakash’s ensemble thriller, starring Mamta Mohandas, Priya Prakash Varrier, Soubin Shahir and Shine Tom Chacko, revolves around two women, who are victims of fake news and cyber harassment, deciding to take on the media mafia. The movie is scripted by S Suresh Babu, who had previously teamed up with VK Prakash for Oruthee.
