Aami (ZEE5)

Director: Kamal

Cast: Manju Warrier, Murali Gopy, Tovino Thomas and Anoop Menon

The life of famous Indian English poet and writer Kamala Das, who was affectionately called "Aami," is the subject of the biographical film Aami. The film primarily focuses on the writer's two relationships: one with her husband and the other, following his death, with a suitor who practiced a different religion. Manju Warrier takes on various physical appearances to represent Kamala Das.

Cast: Prithviraj Sukumaran, Mamta Mohandas and Sreenivasan

This biographical drama film tells the life story of J.C. Daniel and his quest to produce India's first Malayalam motion picture. When Rosie, a lower caste actress, plays an upper caste woman in his film, trouble starts. Rosie is compelled to leave the town as a result of the public outcry. Celluloid recounts the lives of J.C. Daniel and his wife following this incident. One of the best performances of Prithviraj Sukumaran's career, this film has received great praise.

Pinneyum (ZEE5)

Director: Adoor Gopalakrishnan

Cast: Dileep, Kavya Madhavan, Nedumudi Venu and Vijayaraghavan

This movie was partially inspired by the 1984 murder in Kerala that was committed by infamous wanted criminal Sukumara Kurup. The most impressive aspect of Pinneyum, though, is how well it captures the painful consequences of making a wrong decision in life. Dileep and Kavya Madhavan play the main roles in this film, which was directed by Adoor Gopalakrishnan.

Vellam (Sun NXT)

Cast: Jayasurya, Samyuktha Menon, Siddique, Santhosh Keezhattoor and Johny Antony

The protagonist of Vellam is an alcoholic whose life is drastically changed when he makes the decision to make a change for himself and his family. This Malayalam biographical drama, featuring Jayasurya and Samyuktha Menon in the lead roles, is based on the life of Murali Kunumpurath, who, through perseverance, rose from the depths of alcoholism to become a prosperous entrepreneur.

Operation Java (ZEE5)

Director: Tharun Moorthy

Cast: Balu Varghese, Lukman Avaran, Binu Pappu, and Mamitha Baiju

Even though Operation Java lacked major stars, the plot and supporting characters did an outstanding job of engaging the audience. This movie explores a number of cases as subplots instead of concentrating on a single crime, including theft, murder, job fraud, and movie piracy. It examines most cases that are based on actual occurrences.
