Not just Kani Kusruti & Divya Prabha, another Malayalam actress was also offered All We Imagine as Light

All We Imagine as Light, which is continuing its winning streak across the globe, also put two Malayalam actresses on the map - Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha. Not just these two, but another Malayalam actress was also approached for a role in the film. Vincy Aloshious has come forward to state that she rejected the acclaimed film. Vincy Aloshious on rejecting All We Imagine as Light

Vincy Aloshious shot to fame after winning the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actress for Rekha, which released in 2022. The Malayalam actress, who has not been seen in many breakthrough performances since, has said that she was offered All We Imagine as Light but she chose to let go of it. And in an honest statement, she admitted she was at 'peak arrogance’ then.

“I am saying this as a confession. When I was at peak arrogance, I was offered a film. But I rejected it as I felt this movie was not for me," Vincy said in Malayalam during a public event in Kerala recently. The state award-winning actress further revealed that the movie she rejected was Payal Kapadia's All We Imagine as Light that went on to register a historic victory at Cannes. The film, starring Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha, is much talked about these days, Vincy pointed out.

Vincy further said that she was riding high on success at that point in her career but not anymore. She urged the audience, which mostly appeared to be youngsters, to have faith and goodness in oneself to succeed.

All We Imagine as Light on OTT

On the other hand, All We Imagine as Light is available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar on January 3, 2025. Apart from making its OTT debut, the film is making headlines currently as Payal Kapadia has been nominated in the Best Director category at the 82nd Golden Globe Awards. It has also secured BAFTA longlist spots.

The poignant film, the winner of the Cannes Grand Prix, narrates the tale of two Malayali nurses in Mumbai, played by Kani Kusruti and Divya Prabha.
