The collaboration of Srinivasa Raju and Golden Star Ganesh has certainly evoked excitement among Kannada moviegoers. The former is a filmmaker best known for the Dandupalya film series which traces the terrifying notorious activities of the eponymous gang. The latter, of course, is a star actor best recognised as the 'lover boy' of modern-day Kannada cinema through cult hits such as Mungaru Male, Gaalipata, and others. So, with two such starkly contrasting personalities joining forces, one grows curious about the film that's in the offing.
In his recent conversation with a popular Kannada media outlet, Srinivasa Raju divulged that the plot of the film will not have similarities with what Ganesh has previously attempted. "Will the film be a crime drama along the lines of Dandupalya?" is the question that needs the answer but the filmmaker added that the project will not fall under a specific genre as such. The title and the first look of the film will be unveiled on July 2, to mark Ganesh's 43rd birthday.
And to make things all the more exciting, we hear that the team has brought popular Malayalam and Telugu actress Malavika Nair on board to play the female lead. Having made her acting debut in 2012 with a cameo role in Ustad Hotel, Malavika's first display of talent came the following year in the drama film Black Butterfly. She would make her Telugu debut in 2015 opposite Nani in Yevade Subramanyam and soon establish herself as a sought-after actress with films like Mahanati, Taxiwaala, and Anni Manchi Sakunamule.
