Malaikottai Valiban: Mohanlal reveals official title of his movie with Lijo Jose Pellissery

The wait for the title of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal and acclaimed filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery's first ever collaboration is over. The team took to their social media pages to announce the name of the much-anticipated movie – Malaikottai Valiban.

The team has been building anticipation for the title reveal for a few days now, with the film's producers - John and Mary Creative - taking to their social media page to announce the title reveal date and Mohanlal and Lijo sharing pieces of the jigsaw puzzle in the lead up to the final unveiling on December 23 at 5pm through their social media pages.

Malaikottai Valiban is all set to go on floors in January 2023 and will be shot extensively in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The team has been busy with the film's pre-production. Mohanlal is reportedly playing a wrestler in the film, but this has not been officially confirmed by the team.

Lijo teaming up with Mohanlal has been a news that's celebrated not just by the fans but also celebs. Recently, Prithviraj Sukumaran, who had worked with Lijo in City of God and Double Barrel, said that he was most excited about the film because Lijo was directing it and he was sure the filmmaker would make the best use of Mohanlal the actor and performer. Prithviraj himself is set to direct Mohanlal again in 2023 with Empuraan. Both these movies are expected to have huge initial opening at the Kerala box office based on the hype they have already got going.

Meanwhile, Lijo, in his previous directorial Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam, had directed Mammootty and after its world premiere at International Film Festival of Kerala earlier this month, the audience hailed the megastar's performance as one of his best in recent times. Quite a huge praise considering the actor had already starred in BheeshmaParvam, Puzhu and Rorschach this year. It's no wonder that Mohanlal fans are expecting Lijo to repeat the feat with Mohanlal's big budget film.
