Malaikottai Vaaliban: Vidyut Jammwal, Danish Sait and Rajpal Yadav in Mohanlal and Lijo Jose Pellissery film?

When director Lijo Jose Pellissery teams up with Mohanlal for a movie, it’s bound to be something different, and surprises galore it is! The film, which is titled Malaikottai Vaaliban, promises to have a diverse cast and we have already got wind of some of the big names that will be part of the big budget movie.

Kannada actor and comedian Danish Sait is the first to confirm that he will be joining hands with Mohanlal and Lijo for the movie. Soon after the movie’s title announcement, Danish took to his Twitter page to share the news along with its title poster.

“My 2023 begins with the legendary Mr Mohanlal and the absolute genius LJP,” he wrote, adding that he is excited to join the team. But that’s not all, there’s rumour that Bollywood actor Vidyut Jammwal along with Rajpal Yadav will also be part of the cast of the movie.

While there’s yet to be an official confirmation regarding Vidyut and Rajpal’s casting, the Khuda Haafiz actor, who is trained in martial arts, is reported to be roped in for the role of the antagonist in the movie. As per initial rumours and the motifs on the title poster, Mohanlal will be essaying the role of a wrestler in the movie.

The film’s pre-production work has already begun. The shoot of the movie is set to start in January 2023 with Jaisalmer, Rajasthan being the prime location. Incidentally, Radhika Apte, who had already starred in a Malayalam movie Haram along with Fahadh Faasil, is also one of the names in the mix to play the lead actress in the film.

Malaikottai Vaaliban, which is scripted by Lijo and PS Rafique, has Prashanth Pillai as its composer and Madhu Neelakandan as its cinematographer. The movie marks the debut production of John & Mary Creative. Ajagajantharam and Chaaver filmmaker Tinu Pappachan will join Lijo once again as the film’s chief associate director.
