Malaikottai Vaaliban to get censored soon – Mohanlal’s film to have a longer running time in Malayalam

Malaikottai Vaaliban, the highly anticipated Mohanlal starrer is now gearing up for its massive theatrical release. The movie, which is touted to be a period fantasy drama, marks the Malayalam superstar’s first onscreen collaboration with the acclaimed filmmaker, Lijo Jose Pellissery. As per the latest reports, Malaikottai Vaaliban is now set to finish its censor board formalities by the end of this weekend. Interestingly, the other language versions of the Mohanlal starrer reportedly have a shorter running time, compared to the Malayalam version of the film.

Malaikottai Vaaliban Malayalam version to have a longer running time

If the latest reports are to be believed, director Lijo Jose Pellissery and his team have made a unique creative choice with the running time of the Mohanlal starrer. The Hindi version of the film, which recently was recently submitted for censor board formalities, reportedly has a running time of 2 hours and 7 minutes.

However, the Malayalam version, which is also submitted to the board, has a total running time of 2 hours and 32 minutes. The recent updates on the extra 25-minute running time of Malaikottai Vaaliban’s Malayalam version have left the cine-goers and Mohanlal fans equally curious.

Malaikottai Vaaliban’s latest trailer wins internet

Recently, the makers of Malaikottai Vaaliban released a brand new teaser of the movie exclusively on Manorama Online. The promising teaser which reminded us of the famous origin story of Kavi Kalidasa, showcases the protagonist played by Mohanlal, asking a woman who stands inside a cottage, who she is. The lady replies she is Devi and asks the leading man who he is, to which he replies: “Vaaliban... Malaikottai Vaaliban.” However, the interesting teaser is yet to get its wide release on social media.

Malaikottai Vaaliban: Cast and Crew

Along with Mohanlal, Malaikottai Vaaliban features a stellar star cast including Sonalee Kulkarni, Andrea Ravera, Danish Sait, Hareesh Peradi, Manikandan R Achari, Katha Nandi, Rajeev Pillai and others, in key roles. The movie is penned by PS Rafeeque. Madhu Neelakandan is the director of photography, Prashant Pillai has composed songs and the original score, and Deepu S Joseph has handled the editing of the Mohanlal starter.
