Mohanlal and Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ambitious project Malaikottai Vaaliban is gearing up to hit the big screens in three languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi.

Malaikottai Vaaliban, the highly anticipated period fantasy film has created quite a stir on social media with its exceptional teaser, trailer, and posters. Mohanlal is playing the titular character in the movie, which marks his first collaboration with the renowned filmmaker Lijo Jose Pellissery. The magnum opus, which is being made with a massive budget, is set to have a record release across the world on January 25, 2024. The movie is set to release in three languages including Malayalam, Tamil, and Hindi.
Anurag Kashyap dubs for Mohanlal in Malaikottai Vaaliban Hindi version
In a recent interview with Kaumudi Movies, Mohanlal extensively spoke about his ambitious project and made some exciting revelations. The superstar stated that Malaikottai Vaaliban is going to be a never-seen-before experience for Indian cinema audiences. The leading man, who also confirmed that the movie is getting released in multiple languages, revealed that renowned director-turned-actor Anurag Kashyap dubbed for him in Hindi.
According to Mohanlal, the Gangs Of Wasseypur director watched the entire film while dubbing for the titular character Vaaliban. After finishing the process, he immediately called the superstar and heaped praise on the film. The veteran actor revealed that Anurag Kashyap is highly impressed with the Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial, and even remarked that he has never seen such a film in his life. Even though the filmmaker dubbed for Mohanlal's character, he asked the team to use his voice only if they found it right for the role.
Mohanlal’s voice in Tamil and Hindi versions
For the uninitiated, along with the original version in Malayalam, Mohanlal is also dubbing for his portions in Malaikottai Vaaliban Tamil. However, the Hindi version of the movie is reportedly set to have quite a few differences compared to the Malayalam version, including its runtime and dubbing voices.

The makers have not revealed why they opted to rope in Anurag Kashyap for Mohanlal in the Hindi version. But the grapevine suggests that the team wanted to bring a unique touch by bringing a Hindi-speaking voice artist. However, after Mohanlal made the interesting revelation, Malayalam cinema audiences are now eager to watch the unique Hindi-speaking avatar of Mohanlal’s character Vaaliban, with Anurag Kashyap’s baritone voice.
