Recent reports state that Mohanlal and Lijo Jose Pellissery's Malaikottai Vaaliban has not yet been censored in Malayalam. It has also been reported that the makers have refuted any claims of censorship regarding any version of the movie.
This has given rise to rumours stating that the original version is the only one that will be released on January 25, with films such as Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter hitting the big screen on the same day.
Malaikottai Vaaliban is one of the most anticipated films of 2024 and is predicted to give Mohanlal another hit after Jeethu Joseph’s Neru, which was released on December 21. This film will feature the actor as a travelling wrestler.
The movie is helmed as a pan-India release, being dubbed in other languages - Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, and Hindi. Despite the long weekend due to Republic Day, the producers appear hesitant to release the film in other languages because there might only be a limited number of theatres for the dubbed version.
Other releases on the same day
Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone starrer Fighter will be released on December 25. Apart from this, Kannada film Bachelor Party will also hit the big screen on the same day. The comedy film, produced by Rakshit Shetty, stars Diganth Manchale, Yogesh, and Achyuth Kumar.
Lijo Jose Pellissery’s 10 directorial
The Lijo Jose Pellissery directorial is set in the pre-independence era. It was filmed in Pondicherry, Chennai, and Rajasthan. John & Mary Creative, Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, Yoodlee Films, Century Films, and Amen Movie Monastery are producing the historical action movie. The film's cinematographer is Madhu Neelakandan.
Netizens' opinions of the movie's teaser, which was released on December 6, were divided because it only gave a glimpse at Mohanlal's character and offered little other information about the movie. A new teaser for Malaikottai Vaaliban was out on Manorama Online recently. Two sound tracks from the film were released in December, much to the delight of the actor’s fans as well as movie buffs.
