Looks like all is not well for the makers of Tejas and Dhaakad. Both the films, which featured actress Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, flunked at the box office. In the year 2022, Dhaakad – the drama film, was created with a budget of Rs 85 crores. However, its box office reception was very poor and it managed to earn only Rs 5 crore theatrically. Similarly, this year, Tejas earned just a little over Rs 5 crores after being made with a budget of Rs 60 crores.

According to a report published on Bollywood Hungama today, “Kangana Ranaut starrer Tejas faces a loss of over Rs. 50 crores. With this, the makers of Tejas and Dhaakad left poorer by Rs. 129 crores.”
About Tejas and its box office reception
Tejas, a 2023 action thriller film penned and directed by Sarvesh Mewara and produced by Ronnie Screwvala, features Kangana Ranaut in the lead role, supported by Anshul Chauhan and Varun Mitra.
Despite its star-studded cast and promising premise, the movie, which hit the screens on October 27, 2023, faced predominantly unfavorable reviews from critics. Within the initial two days of release, Tejas suffered a significant setback at the box office, earning the unfortunate title of one of Hindi cinema's major flops, leading to the cancellation of numerous theatrical screenings on its opening day.

About Dhaakad and its box office reception
Dhaakad, a 2022 action film in Hindi directed by Razneesh Ghai, features Kangana Ranaut, Arjun Rampal, Divya Dutta, and Saswata Chatterjee. Unfortunately, despite its star-studded cast, the movie turned out to be one of the most significant box office failures in Indian cinema, managing to earn only ₹3.77 crores worldwide.
