2015 saw the release of Aadu, a movie that was a cinematic adaptation of Guy Ritchie's English crime comedy Snatch. Aadu is streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. Under Friday Film House's auspices, actor Vijay Babu produced both films.

The prequel did create a lot of buzz when it debuted in theatres, but viewers liked it, and it became very popular once it came out on DVD. As a result, Aadu 2 was greatly anticipated and went on to become the biggest hit of 2017. The sequel was not only the highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2017 but also the highest-earning Jayasurya film on its first day of release.

All about the Aadu franchise

This sequel featured the return of Jayasurya, Saiju Kurup, Vinayakan, Vijay Babu, Sunny Wayne, Bhagath Manuel, Vineeth Mohan, Indrans, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Bijukuttan, Sudhi Koppa, and Harikrishnan.

Characters like Shaji Pappan, Arakkal Abu, Saathaan Xavier, SI Sarbath Shameer, and Damodaran Unni Makan Delmen Edakochi (Dude), who never fail to make viewers laugh aloud when they watch them on TV, are adored by fans of the movie. Fans have also recreated a number of scenes from this movie on various social media platforms.

Of all the roles Jayasurya has played thus far, Pannimattathil Shaji Pappan is without a doubt the one that the audience loves and remembers the most. The actor never fails to impress the audience with his spontaneous and spot-on delivery of humour, and he fits into the quirky mannerisms of the role with ease.

The director himself has penned the screenplay for the films. The soundtrack for both movies has been composed by Shaan Rahman.
