Maja Ma trailer: Madhuri Dixit, Gajraj Rao impress in this family fare full of drama, emotion and laughter

The makers of Maja Ma had announced sometime ago that the movie will have a direct release on Amazon Prime Video on October 6. They have now come up with its three-minute trailer which offers a sneak peek into the film's storyline.

The family drama stars Madhuri Dixit, Gajraj Rao and Ritwik Bhowmik, Barkha Singh, Srishti Shrivastava and Rajit Kapur in important roles. Simone Singh, Sheeba Chaddha, MalharThakar and Ninad Kamat are others who will be seen essaying notable characters in the project. Leo Media Collective and Amritpal Singh Bindra have bankrolled the movie which has been directed by Anand Tiwari, while Sumit Batheja has penned the story along with the director.

The film's story revolves around a young couple who finds it difficult to convince their parents regarding their marriage. The boy and the girl hail from different walks of life, and the latter's parents aren't impressed with the former's background and his parents.

How they go through a lot of hurdles to get together in life forms the crux of the story. Madhuri headlines the movie as a doting mother and a dancer, while Gajraj Rao essays the role of a care-free husband. His witty one-liners and chemistry with Madhuri Dixit are expected to be a few of the highlights of Maja Ma.

A press release issued by Amazon Prime has the actress saying, "My role in Maja Ma, Pallavi Patel, is a complex one, something I haven't played before. She carries her responsibilities as a mother and a wife with so much grace. The different emotions she goes through during a crucial situation makes the character unique."

Madhuri was last seen in The Fame Game, the Netflix original web series, which was dropped earlier this year.
