Gurnam Bhullar and Sonam Bajwa are coming back with their new Punjabi film, Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal. The movie is one of the most-awaited films in Pollywood, considering their jodi has been a hit in the last film they did together – Guddiyan Patole. The concept of Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal and how the film captures Punjab in the trailer itself has left people intrigued. Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal’s story

As the title suggests, Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal is actually a movie about a couple who is in love but isn’t ready to get married. A Canadian Youtuber named Pooran (Gurnam) wants to make a documentary on India. Thus, this ‘urban pendu’ ends up in Punjab. There, he meets Mannat (Sonam) and sparks fly between the two. While Mannat does not show much interest in Pooran initially, he pursues her. When she actually likes him and confesses the same, the two take their relationship to the next level and start dating. However, Pooran ends up hinting that he will not marry Mannat because she is just another Indian girl which he wants some ‘gori’. Being persuasive herself, Mannat also tries to get Pooran to agree to a wedding. Will he actually change his views to be with Mannat or will the lovebirds part ways?

When can you watch the movie?

The film will release in theatres on March 4. The makers are yet to announce an OTT release of the film.

That’s correct. The makers have not officially announced when and where will Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal release on OTT. However, considering how Zee5 has been backing Punjabi films, this one too could release there.

Is the movie anything like DDLJ?

The trailer of Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal was heavily inspired from Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol’s evergreen movie, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ). From ‘palat’ to ‘Jaa Simran Jaa’, the trailer itself was full of the references. While there will be certain elements common between the two (Pooran could probably marry Mannat with her parents’ permission), the movie in itself is nothing like DDLJ. That was a love story where both Raj and Simran knew they love each other and their love has a destination. That is not the case with Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal. Here, Pooran is extremely confused about what he wants in life. He represents the modern generation while Mannat is a little old-school who is sorted about her life choices.

Gurnam and Sonam first appeared in Guddiyan Patole. The movie became a superhit among the viewers and critics, mainly thanks to the chemistry these two share. Something similar will take place in Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal, making the film extra special.

Directed by Super Singh helmer Rupinder Inderjit, Main Viyah Nahi Karona Tere Naal is expected to have a bumper opening in Punjab. It is to be seen whether the critics appreciate this movie just as much as they did Guddiyan Patole.
