Rajkummar Rao is keeping busy of late, juggling more than a few titles in his kitty. But it seems that the actor’s road to success did not start off all that rosy. The actor revealed how his dreams of stardom had led him to the house of none other than Shah Rukh Khan himself.
On an appearance on the Kapil Sharma Show, the actor recounted how he had ‘run away’ to Mumbai when he was 17 years old, along with his younger brother. Rao revealed that the two of them had gathered up some money and had purchased a train ticket to the city. The two initially had dreams of becoming dancers, which did not pan out.
Rao talked about how he used to sit outside Shah Rukh Khan’s house for hours at a time. This habit of his worried Rao’s brother, whom Rao consoled saying that he just wanted to lay eyes on the superstar once and it would feel good to see him. Although the brothers were not able to see SRK then, they did get to see a glimpse of Gauri Khan as she was getting into her car, revealed Rao. Rao recalled that when he had seen her, he had remarked “Koi apna jaa raha hai”. The actor added that he told Khan about this as well.
Meanwhile, Rao is currently awaiting the release of his film, HIT - The First Case, which also stars Sanya Malhotra. The investigation thriller, which is a remake of the Telugu film of the same name, is directed by Sailesh Kolanu and will be released in theatres on July 15.
