Produced by Boney Kapoor, Maidaan also stars Priyamani and Gajraj Rao apart from Ajay Devgn

Ajay Devgn finally unveiled the trailer of his upcoming film, Maidaan. The same is trending on the internet but for a different reason. Netizens, especially on Twitter, feel that Maidaan has been hugely inspired by Shah Rukh Khan’s Chak De India and Akshay Kumar’s Gold. This is especially because of the back story (of a poor man rising from the ashes), which is similar in all the three movies.
Netizens find the similarity
One user called Maidaan a ‘sasta copy’ of Chak De India and Gold. Another user is sure about rewatching Gold through Maidaan.
Most positive comments
There were numerous netizens who are impressed with the newly released trailer of Ajay’s film. One even went on to say that Akshay Kumar-Tiger Shroff’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, helmed by Ali Abbas Zafar, might not mint Rs. 350 crores because it is clashing with Maidaan. Another loved everything, including AR Rahman’s vocals.
That one negative comment
As one can expect, there is also one negative comment. This person, who appears to be an Ajay fan otherwise, is disappointed because the movie has no goosebump moments and unfortunately felt that Ajay’s dialogues were monotonous.
About Maidaan
Produced by Boney Kapoor, Maidaan features Ajay Devgn in the role of a football coach named Syed Abdul Rahim. The movie is helmed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma and also features Priyamani and Gajraj Rao in leading roles. While Priyamani plays the role of Ajay’s wife, Gajraj is seen as the chairman of the football association. The movie, like most films since COVID-19, faced numerous delays. Eventually, it is scheduled to release with Bade Miyan Chote Miyan. The film is touted to be the remake of the original David Dhawan directorial featuring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda in the lead roles. This time, it is Akshay and Tiger’s bonding in the movie.
