Ajay Devgn leads an epic football journey in Syed Abdul Rahim's biopic, Maidaan.

Finally, the trailer for Maidaan is out, and it's yet another underdog story that's unheard and thus brought to celluloid. The highly anticipated film tells the true story of an unknown hero, Syed Abdul Rahim, who brought pride to India through football. Ajay Devgn plays a coach who creates history and records for India, achieving feats unmatched even 60 years later in the world's most played sport, football.
The trailer shows the actor in the leading role, bringing together a team comprising players from different parts of the country. In the process, he asks for a decade to make India recognised as a nation, which can also make for an amazing football team. The trailer also gives a glimpse into his family life, with Priyamani playing his onscreen wife. Gajraj Rao, on the other hand, is the antagonist in the story, bringing about challenges to Ajay's dream of a football team recognised worldwide.

Amit Ravindernath Sharma, known for 'Badhai Ho', directs Maidaan, which also stars Priyamani, Gajraj Rao, and the renowned Bengali actor Rudranil Ghosh. The trailer gives a glimpse of the incredible journey of Syed Abdul Rahim, and it seems like it has only built excitement for the movie.
Moreover, Madhur Mittal, Chaitanya Sharma, Tejas Ravishankar, Davinder Gill, Amartya Ray, Manandeep Singh, Vishnu G Varrier, Jayanth, Raphael Jose, Arko Das, Prajwal Maski, Amandeep Thakur, Sai Kishore, Tanmay Bhattacharjee, Rishabh Joshi, Aaman Munshi, Sushant Waydande, Nitanshi Goel, Abhilash Thapliyal, Aryann Bhowmik, Amir Ali Shaik, Bharath Jairam, Rohit Mondal, Diego Torres Kuri, GM Tonoy, and Krishna Saajnani are among the supporting cast in Maidaan, and this includes actors playing the roles of football players.
Zee Studios, Boney Kapoor, Arunava Joy Sengupta, and Akash Chawla produced the film, with Saiwyn Quadras and Ritesh Shah writing the screenplay and dialogue, respectively. The music is by AR Rahman, and the lyrics are by Manoj Muntashir Shukla. The film is set to release worldwide in theatres on Eid 2024, as well as in IMAX.
