Maidaan is one of the most-awaited sports dramas of 2024. Directed by Amit Sharma, this film narrates the life struggles of Syed Abdul Rahim, a pioneering football coach in India between 1952 and 1962. The makers of the film are actively promoting the film and have generated a positive buzz around it. Ahead of the film’s release on April 11, we have discovered the OTT platform on which the film will be released post its theatrical success.

Maidaan on OTT

Ajay Devgn’s sports drama can be viewed on Amazon Prime Video after its successful theatrical run. A few days ago, Maidaan, starring Ajay Devgn in the lead role, received clearance from the Censor Board without any edits.

The runtime of the movie spans over three hours, with a few additional elements incorporated. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) did not delete any scene or dialogue from the film, as per a report by Bollywood Hungama.

The only change that the Censor Board asked for was to add a disclaimer stating the film is a work of fiction and insert an anti-smoking ticker. Notably, in the trailer of Maidaan, Ajay could be seen smoking in front of his family members while conveying a message. The CBFC also asked the makers of Maidaan to mention credits in the Hindi language as well.

What is special about Maidaan?

Speaking about the stellar cast and crew of the film, Maidaan is a sports drama film, scripted and directed by Amit Ravindernath Sharma, with production helmed by Boney Kapoor and Zee Studios. The film features Ajay Devgn, Priyamani, and Gajraj Rao in prominent roles.

Bade Miyan Chote Miyan and Maidaan have gained much attention since their bookings opened last Saturday. However, the movie starring Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff seems to have outpaced Ajay Devgn-starrer when it comes to ticket sales. Bade Miyan Chote Miyan has so far sold more than 9000 tickets and is expected to have over 3000 shows all over India, according to Sacnilk.com. On the other hand, Maidaan has sold more than 6000 tickets and will be shown on more than 2700 screens.
