Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi’s 50th film Maharaja, which is due for release, has dropped a new update. Commemorating Vijay Sethupathi’s birthday today, January 16, the makers of the upcoming film released the second-look poster from the film.
The actor is seen holding a weapon, with blood dripping down, suggesting that his character could have committed a murder. Though looking away from the camera, he gives a cold yet intense look. He appears to be unfazed, exuding the vibes of remorseless killer. Fans are intrigued to see their favourite star in a mysterious avatar after Jawan. Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan of Kurangu Bommai fame, the movie is touted to be a crime action thriller and is expected to be released sooner this year.

Besides Vijay Sethupathi, the crime action thriller also stars Anurag Kashyap, Mamta Mohandas, Ammu Abhirami and Natty in key roles. The film is produced by Sudhan Sundaram and Jagadish Palanisamy. B Ajaneesh Loknath has scored the music, while Dinesh Purushothaman has handled the cinematography. Philomin Raj handled the editing, while Anal Arasu helmed the action choreography for the movie. V Selva Kumar heads art direction.
Vijay Sethupathi’s Viduthalai Part 2 to premiere at Rotterdam Film Festival
Vijay Sethupathi and Vetrimaaran’s period crime thriller Viduthalai series (Part 1 and 2) was recently selected for the Rotterdam Film Festival 2024, scheduled to be held between January 25 to February 4, 2024.
It was speculated that the film would hit the theatres by summer 2024, and the latest update indicates that the shoot for the second instalment of the Vetrimaaran directorial has been completed and it is likely to arrive in cinemas by April-May. Viduthalai 2 has been one of the long-awaited films and features an ensemble cast that includes Prakash Raj, Bhavani Sre, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Ilavarasu, among others. The film is produced by Elred Kumar and Vetrimaaran, under RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company. Maestro Ilayaraja has scored the music for the film, while Velraj is handling the camera.
