A few days ago, reports suggested that Junaid Khan's debut film, Maharaj, would make its Netflix debut in June 2024. The YRF-produced film, Maharaj, is set to premiere on June 14, 2024, and the makers have released the first-look poster. Siddharth P. Malhotra helms the film, which stars Aamir Khan's son Junaid, Jaideep Ahlawat, and Shalini Pandey.
First-look poster revealed
The poster features Jaideep in a previously unseen avatar, with Junaid assuming the role of Karsandas Mulji. During the film's announcement, the makers provided context for the historical story. They mentioned that in 1862, India had a total of just three universities. Even though Rabindranath Tagore has only been alive for a year, the freedom movement that began with the Sepoy Mutiny in 1857 is far from over. More than 160 years after the fact, the true tale of one man's valiant stance in a historic court battle has now emerged in Maharaj.
One of the first to fight for equal rights for women and other social reforms was the journalist and activist Karsandas Mulji. He was a follower of the scholar-leader Dadabhai Naoroji and a student at Mumbai's Elphinstone College. He championed the downtrodden, planted the seeds of social change, and authored a book on widow remarriage.

Well, the film's release is just 15 days away, and we can't wait to know more about the story while also focusing on Junaid, who has faced the camera for the first time as a leading actor. The film also features Sharvari making a guest appearance.
