Earlier, the makers had announced the project to be a period drama based on one of the biggest incidents that shook the people of the then Madras (British India).
It is now revealed that the series will explore the hidden conspiracies and mysteries surrounding the death of a journalist who wrote about film celebrities. However, the real killers remain unidentified to date, further adding to the mystery.
Alongside Nazriya, actors Shanthanu and Natty are also expected to be part of the project which will premiere on SonyLIV. Other known faces are also expected to be part of the project, with additional details to come soon by the makers.
The Madras Murder is written and helmed by Sooriyaprathap S with AL Vijay serving as the showrunner. IB Karthikeyan will be bankrolling the show under the banner of Big Print Pictures. A release date for the series is yet to be announced by the makers.
