'Madhuri Dixit's focus on getting it right is commendable': Kruti Mahesh on choreographing the actor for Amazon Prime Video's Maja Maa

Collaboration with Madhuri Dixit-Nene is a dream come true for every choreographer worth their salt. It's no surprise, then, that Kruti Mahesh, who recently collaborated with the actor on the upcoming Maja Maa, calls it the highlight of her year. With the Amazon Prime Video family drama centred on a Gujarati mother preparing for her son's wedding, director Anand Tiwari enlisted the help of National Award-winning choreographer Rangeela Mara Naach to create the song. 

And Kruti who is fresh off the success of Gangubai Kathiawadi's Dholida and Jhume Re Gori told Mid Day that it's a privilege to collaborate with India's dancing queen. There is so much you can explore when you have such a lovely dancer.

The ace choreographer returned to the basics of Garba with Rangeela Mara Naach. She incorporated distinctive manoeuvres while focusing on expressiveness. Another motivator was the fact that Madhuri had never attempted the dance style on screen in her illustrious nearly four-decade-long career. 

Kruti further shared that Garba in this high-energy form is difficult to master. Madhuri makes everything appear so natural and lovely. She is still a hard worker today. Her dedication to doing it perfectly is admirable. It was such a delight for Kruti to incorporate Madhuri as the empress of expressions into Maja Maa. The actor prepared for four days before filming the song in a Mumbai studio. 

Rajit Kapur, Simone Singh, Gajraj Rao, and Ritwik Bhowmik also star in Maja Maa.
