Actor Madhuri Dixit will be seen cheering and applauding for veteran actor Rekha as she performs her iconic song Salaam-E-Ishq on the stage of Dance Deewane 3. Rekha appears as a guest in the upcoming episode of dance reality show.
In the episode, Rekha is seen in a white silk dress with golden embroidery. She wore matching traditional jewellery and heavy makeup. She not only danced to the Muqaddar Ka Sikandar song but also performed to Thare Rahiyo from Pakeezah (1972).
Colors TV shared two videos showcasing Rekha's performances. In the clip showing Rekha dancing to Thare Rahiyo, Madhuri Dixit is seen whistling for her. In another clip, Rekha dances to Salaam-E-Ishq while Madhuri lip syncs to it. The clip ended with Madhuri going to the stage and hugging Rekha.
Earlier, a promo of Dance Deewane 3 was released in which Rekha and Madhuri were seen recreating one of the most popular scenes from Silsila (1981). The scene was originally picturised on Rekha and Jaya Bachchan's characters in the film. In Dance Deewane 3, while Rekha reprised her role, Madhuri was seen getting into the shoes of Jaya's character.
Madhuri is heard saying, "Kya chahti hain aap (What do you want)?" and Rekha responds, "Mere chahne se kya hota hai (My desire is of no consequence)?" Then Madhuri said, "Unka daaman chhod dijiye (let him go)." Rekha replies, "Yeh mere bas mein nahin, aur joh mere bas mein nahin, woh main kaise kar sakti hoon (That is beyond my power, I can't do it)." Madhuri then said, "Amit mere pati hain, mera dharm hai (Amit is my husband, my religion). Rekha concludes with, "Woh mera pyar hai (He is the love of my life)."
The reality show also shared a video in which Rekha danced Inn Aankhon Ki Masti Ke from Umrao Jaan (1981), another popular song from her career.
This year, Rekha has appeared in a couple of reality shows. In April, Rekha had appeared on an episode of Indian Idol 12. While she entertained audience with her cheerful spirit, she also grabbed everyone's attention when she and host Jay Bhanushali spoke about women falling for married men.
Jay had asked the judges if they'd seen a woman so attracted to a man, that too a married man. Rekha had replied, "Muhse puchiye na (Ask me)." As Jay could only reply with "huh", Rekha said, "Maine kuch nahi kaha (I didn't say anything)."
