Madhura Manohara Moham locks its OTT release date? Here’s where to watch Rajisha Vijayan’s comedy entertainer

Debutante filmmaker Stephy Zaviour has already accomplished what only a select few directors have managed to do in Mollywood with their first outing – score a superhit. The Kerala State Film Award-winning costume designer-turned-director’s debut film Madhura Manohara Moham, which has emerged as a sleeper hit, has now also reportedly pulled off another coup for its OTT release.

The movie, which has Rajisha Vijayan, Sharafudheen, Arsha Baiju and Bindu Panicker in pivotal roles, is now set to premiere in a relatively new OTT platform as its marquee release for Onam 2023, as per reports.

Madhura Manohara Moham, which is scripted by Mahesh Gopal and Jai Vishnu, revolves around a mother and three siblings – essayed by Bindu Panicker, Sharafudheen, Rajisha Vijayan and newcomer Meenakshi. After elder brother Manu finds out that his sister Meera is in love with someone from another community, he and his mother decide to take action, without letting anyone else know about it. What unravels is a series of unexpected incidents that test the bond between the family members.

In an earlier interview with OTTplay, Rajisha, who plays Meera in the movie, told us, “Usually, the siblings in Malayalam cinema share a goody-goody relationship where the sister has an over-protective brother. This movie is entirely different in that regard.” The actress, whose recent release Kolla is streaming on Manorama Max, also said that the film’s setting of Pathanamthitta and the geography also has a huge influence on the story of Madhura Manohara Moham.

The movie, which hit theatres in June and has reportedly gone on to rake close to Rs 10 crore in worldwide box office collection, has now locked its streaming deal with HR OTT. The platform, which had previously released Gautham Vasudev Menon and Aswin Jose’s Anuragam, is expected to begin streaming Madhura Manohara Moham as an Onam release on August 25, according to reports. The makers are yet to officially announce the OTT release date and partner.
