Kunal Kemmu made his directorial debut and the film released in theatres today. Titled Madgaon Express, it is the story about three friends who plan a trip to Goa but it doesn’t go as expected. Pratik Gandhi, Divyendu Sharma and Avinash Tiwary play the lead roles in the film, which is backed by Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. The movie, according to Box Office India as well as Sacnilk.com, has a slow start at the Box Office.

Early BO

According to Sacnilk.com, Madgaon Express has minted Rs. 1.5 crores at the Box Office on its opening day. Although the film has managed to earn in crores, it is not a big number per say and thus, the film will have to hold up till Monday to work at the Box Office.

BOGO offer works for Madgaon Express?

Madgaon Express was among the movies which was released with Buy 1 get 1 offer on online bookings. However, according to early buzz, that has not really helped the movie. This is supposedly the case because there is no superstar associated with the project. Madgaon Express is a family entertainer but the timing of the movie’s release plays a major role in why the Box Office collections of this one are lower than expected.

Where the movie could have worked and where it probably didn’t

Madgaon Express is primarily relatable to viewers from Maharashtra and Gujarat. It is a content which doesn’t exactly suit the taste of viewers from Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab and Bihar. The movie is working best in Mumbai’s Thane district and after that, the footfalls are seen from Pune.

Another big obstacle for Madgaon Express comes in the form of Randeep Hooda’s Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The movie is working very well in Maharashtra. It appears that owing to the competition, Madgaon Express earned lesser than what it could have probably made if it released solo or with another film.
