Made in Heaven is gearing up for another intriguing new season. As fans patiently wait for updates on the show’s upcoming season, Kalki Koechlin and Jim Sarbh, who essay the roles of Faiza Naqvi and Adil Khanna on the show, opened up about a particularly emotionally charged sequence between their characters in season one.
The scene featured Faiza confronting Adil in the latter’s office, after she did not receive an invitation from her friends for a party. The duo, who were having an affair, have an intense conversation, in which Faiza breaks down.
Discussing the scene with The Indian Express, Sarbh revealed that they had tried to follow the script to a tee for the scene, which he said he enjoyed. On his character’s reaction, Sarbh spoke of why Adil reacted the way he did. Being in the office, he did not want to attract attention, closing the door and making sure he did not raise his voice. Although he tries to keep calm in the situation, he also understood where Faiza’s anger came from.
Koechlin recalled the day they had filmed the scene, on a ‘fairly quiet day’. The actress said that she never tried to judge her characters, and tried to understand them as well as she could. Faiza had suffered from abuse and unsupportive parents, and she had turned to Adil whom she considered one of the people she could count on. “I love her heart-of-sleeve-ness. She really feels everything”, added Koechlin. The actress also teased that the ‘love triangle’ between Faiza, Adil and Sobhita Dhulipala’s character Tara would get more ‘convoluted’ in season two.
In addition to Koechlin and Sarbh, the series also stars Arjun Mathur, Sobhita Dhulipala, Shashank Arora, and Shivani Raghuvanshi.
The first season of Made in Heaven can be streamed on Amazon Prime Video.
