Even as Suraj Venjaramoodu’s ED-Extra Decent hit theatres across Kerala on Friday, two of the actor’s films have landed on OTT. Madanolsavam, which stars Suraj Venjaramoodu in the lead role, is now available for streaming on Prime Video.
Suraj Venjaramoodu’s Madanolsavam made its OTT debut on Prime Video on December 20, 2024. The film, a political satire, is available in Malayalam with English subtitles. Directed by Sudheesh Gopinath, the movie has script penned by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval. The film also features Babu Antony and Rajesh Madhavan in key roles.
Suraj Venjaramoodu plays Madanan Mallakkara, an ordinary man in Kerala who sells coloured chickens to make a living. Madanan’s life is upended when he is asked to contest the election as a namesake candidate. For the unversed, people with names similar to that of contestants enter the election fray which could affect the poll outcome. It is very much part of the Kerala poll milieu, and director Sudheesh Gopinath and writer Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval have woven a tale around this.
Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval is known for movies such as Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham and Nna Thaan Case Kodu, another satire set in a courtroom.

So the writer-director duo whips up enough instances on the political scenario in the state as Madnan gets caught up between parties but with a dose of humour. With Madanolsvam, Suraj Venjaramoodu once again proved his versitality. However, the film falls prey to predictability in the later half and fails to keep the audiences engaged throughout.
Meanwhile, another Suraj Venjaramoodu movie has also been added to the Prime Video's content library. The action thriller Mura, which also features several newcomers, is also streaming on Prime Video. Hridhu Haroon, Suraj Venjaramoodu, and Mala Parvathy play pivotal roles in the film, which is directed by Muhammad Mustafa of Kappela fame. The film is only available in Malayalam with English subtitles.
