MAD | Dulquer Salmaan remembers his early days in cinema: We looked like..

Dulquer Salmaan, whose pan-Indian film King of Kotha released on Disney+ Hotstar recently, is back in Hyderabad for work. He has now begun shooting for Lucky Bhaskar, written and directed by Sir/Vaathi fame filmmaker Venky Atluri. The drama is produced by Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinema. He was also the chief guest at the pre-release event of the banner’s next titled MAD.

While speaking at the pre-release event, Dulquer shared, “I am back to Hyderabad to do a direct Telugu film with the same team - Vamsi and Venky Atluri; it’s my first with Sithara Entertainments. I am very excited about the film. Everything about MAD - the trailer, the music, the actors, the entertainment - looks mad.”

Remembering his early years in cinema, the actor said none of the lead actors in MAD look like debutants. “I debuted in films nearly 12 years ago. None of you kids look like first-timers. You should see all of us in our first films - we look like amateurs. All of you are phenomenal. The film looks great fun. I really liked Bheems Cecrioleo’s music, I was tapping my feet all along.”

He wished the cinematographer and the team the very best ahead of its release. Dulquer spoke of the warm friendship he shares with DJ Tillu star Siddu Jonnalagadda and that he can’t wait to watch Tillu Square. He equally admired Sreeleela’s dancing skills, her ability to do 8-10 films at once, naming her a storm and a new sensation in Indian cinema.

Narne Nithin, Sangeeth Shobhan, Ram Nithin, Sri Gouri Priya Reddy, Ananathika Sanilkumar, Gopikaa Udyan essay pivotal roles in MAD, written and directed by Kalyan Shankar. The film is a campus comedy and the promos have done well to excite the younger lot this week. Raghu Babu, Racha Ravi, Muralidhar Goud, Vishnu, Anthony, Srikanth Reddy form the supporting cast.
