Sivakarthikeyan has been shooting for Madonne Ashwin's Maaveeran for quite some time. The makers had unveiled a promo video a few months ago after which the hype surrounding the movie witnessed a spike. The action flick will be released in Telugu as well under the title Mahaveerudu.

It's been a while since the team has come up with an update and Siva's fans have been asking for the same on social media. The star's last outing Prince ended up as a failure at the box office and movie buffs have pinned high hopes on Maaveeran.

The star completed 11 years in the industry yesterday. It was on February 3, 2012 that Pandiraj's film Marina, which had Siva playing the lead, was released. After his performance was noted, there was no looking back for him as he scaled heights in no time.

The cast and crew members of Maaveeran celebrated the occasion by cutting a cake. The social media page of the production house Shanthi Talkies, which is bankrolling the movie, released a video in which an elated Siva is seen having a whale of time with his colleagues. It is heard that the movie's shooting will be wrapped up soon after which there will be an announcement on its release date.

The film is likely to be Siva's first outing in 2023. The release of his long-pending sci-fi flick Ayalaan helmed by Ramkumar, too, might hit the screens this year if everything goes well.

He had committed an untitled project under Rajkumar Periyasamy's direction last year which will be bankrolled by Kamal Haasan. Sai Pallavi was roped in to play the female lead in the movie which is billed as a big budget film.
