Did you know that Sid Sriram and Shreya Ghoshal were supposed to sing the second single of Maaveran, but they were eventually replaced by Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar? The makers of Maaveeran dropped an uber cool promo for the second single titled Vannarapettayila, which is all set to release on June 14.
The team dropped a video featuring the film's director Madonne Ashwin and music composer Bharath Shankar. In the video, Bharath is seen telling Ashwin that the second single is ready to be sung and that he desperately needs two singers.
Bharath suggests the name of Aditi and tells Ashwin that she is a good singer. Bharath immediately makes a call to Aditi and tells her about the song, which is a duet. When Aditi asks who the other singer is, Ashwin suggests the name of Sid Sriram. Aditi decides to drop everything and rushes to the studio when she hears Sid Sriram's name.
Soon, Ashwin calls Sivakarthikeyan and tells him that they urgently need him to be at the studio and that he will be singing a duet with Shreya Ghoshal! When Sivakarthikeyan asks if the Munbe Vaa singer indeed agrees to sing along with him, and the director says 'yes'. An excited Sivakarthikeyan says that he will be at the studio at the earliest.
When they finally get into the recording studio, the duo realise that they have been taken for a ride by the musician and director.
Maaveeran, which was supposed to release on August 11, is now gearing up for release on July 14. The decision was made after Rajinikanth's Jailer team announced its release date on August 10. The bilingual project also stars Mysskin, Sunil and Sarita. The film is titled Maaveerudu in Telugu.
Maveeran is Madonne Ashwin's sophomore film after Mandela, which starred Yogi Babu in the lead and bagged the National Award last year.
