Suku Purvaj, who impressed many with his debut Shukra, is gearing up for the release of his second directorial Maataraani Mounamidhi in the coming weeks. Two newcomers Mahesh Datta and Soni Srivastava are cast as the lead pair in the romantic thriller that has been in the news for its character posters and the first glimpse a few weeks ago.
A special song from Maataraani Mounamidhi, Dhampudu Lakshmi, was launched today. Jaspreet Kaur makes a special appearance in the dance number sung by Revanth, Maneesha Pandranki and Yuvarahul Kanaparthi. D. Syed Basha is the lyricist while Ashir Luke is the film’s composer. Set amid a rural backdrop, the number has a group of men swooning over Jaspreet’s beauty.
‘Dham Dham Dhampudu Lakshmi..Maayadaari Mapatela Chinoodu..Suitu..Bootu Veskoni..Naa Kanta Paddadu,’ the song takes off and gathers steam eventually. While the song offers nothing new musically or in terms of lyrics, it’s expected to strike a chord with listeners who have taste for fast-paced numbers.
Sivaram Charan has cranked the camera for the film while Shiva Sarvani is the editor. Srihari Udayagiri, Sanjeev, Archana Ananth, Keshav, Suman Shetty too play crucial roles in the film. A release date would be announced shortly. The director’s earlier film Shukra can be watched on Amazon Prime Video.
