Maamannan has been a project which many film buffs have pinned high hopes on ever since the project was announced in 2021. Mari Selvaraj is at the helm of the film which stars Vadivelu, Fahadh Faasil, Keerthy Suresh and Udhayanidhi Stalin in lead roles.

None of the four actors have ever acted with each other, which is one of the highlights of the movie, which is billed as a political drama. AR Rahman collaborating with its director is another reason why cinephiles are eagerly looking forward to it. Though makers haven't announced the release date officially, the film is likely to hit screens later this month.

The audio launch of the project which was held earlier this month was a massive affair, thanks to the participation of many filmmakers and actors from Kollywood. Kamal Haasan was the chief guest of the event. The likes of Boney Kapoor, Pa Ranjith, SJ Suryah, Sivakarthikeyan, Soori, H Vinoth and Vignesh Shivan among others attended the event.

The highlight of the affair was the love concert by Rahman which sent fans into a tizzy. Vadivelu, too, joined him in crooning Raasa Kannu, which was unveiled as the first single of the movie. The crowd went berserk watching Isai Puyal and Vaigai Puyal performing together.

The makers have now announced when they are going to telecast the event on television. The star-studded affair will be available to watch on Sun TV on June 18 at 12 pm.

The team has started unveiling short teasers from the event, leaving movie buffs excited. For now, they are keeping their fingers crossed as they await the team to announce the film's release date.
