Actor RK Suresh, who is releasing Maamanithan under his Studio 9 banner, says that the film reminded him of his dad while watching it. Directed by Seenu Ramasamy, the Vijay Sethupathi-Gayathrie starrer has been in the making for a long and is finally scheduled to hit screens on June 24.
RK Suresh said, “There are only a few filmmakers who make movies based on realistic values and Seenu Ramasamy is one among them. I was reminded of my dad while watching this film and I am sure it will have an impact on all men who are heads of families.”
Suresh assured Maamanithan will offer a fresh experience to audiences and will be completely different from the director’s earlier film, Dharmadurai. “Maamanithan will be a movie that audiences can relate to. The movie is set in three different locations. The story begins in Theni, travels to Kerala, and finally ends in Kasi.”
Further, Suresh added that Maamanithan was going to be a special film for Gayathrie. “The story demanded a variety of performances based on three different situations in this movie, and she nailed it. I strongly believe this movie will be a success.”
Maamanithan also features the late Malayalam actor KPAC Lalitha, Guru Somasundaram, and Ganja Karuppu in pivotal roles.
The film, which is the second production venture of Yuvan Shankar Raja, will mark the first time the music director and his father, Ilaiyaraaja, collaborate on the music of a film.
Hearsay is that Vijay Sethupathi and director Seenu Ramasamy might be teaming up once again, after Maamanithan. The duo have earlier worked on films like Thenmerku Paruvakaatru, Dharma Durai and Idam Porul Yaeval.
According to sources, this yet-to-be film will be produced by Kalaipuli S Thanu. This project will mark the first collaboration of Thanu with Vijay Sethupathi. However, we await an official confirmation, on the same.
