Maama Mascheendra: Sudheer Babu goes out of shape, looks unrecognisable

Telugu actor Sudheer Babu is known for his well-sculpted physique. However, in his upcoming film Maama Mascheendra, he seems to have ditched his aesthetic body to play the role of an overweight man. The makers of Maama Mascheendra released the character look of Sudheer on Wednesday. And the actor looks unrecognisable in it. 

"Bet you didn't see this coming Meet Durga!," Sudheer captioned the poster. In the poster, Sudheer's Dugra could be seen sitting on the bonnet of a jeep. Is Durga a good guy? It's hard to tell. Judging from the poster, there is a certain meanness to the character. 

It seems Sudheer wanted to prove to everyone in the industry that there is more to him than his waterboard abs. It remains to be seen whether Sudheer's gamble to experiment with his looks to put the focus on his acting skills will pay off. 

Sudheer is playing triple roles in the movie, which is written and directed by Harsha Vardhan. This film marks the directorial debut of Harsha, who is a well-known face among Telugu movie fans. Harsha has played many memorable supporting roles in many Telugu blockbusters, including Ala Vaikunthapurramloo and HIT: The Second Case. 

The other two looks of Sudheer from the movie will be released on March 4 and March 7. The two characters have been named Parasuram and DJ. 

Maama Mascheendra is bankrolled by Suneil Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banner of Sree Venkateshwara Cinemas LLP.

Sudheer was last seen in the action thriller Hunt. Based on the Malayalam blockbuster Mumbai Police, the film was helmed by Mahesh Surapaneni. The film was released in cinemas in January to a lacklustre response and failed to make any dent at the box office.
