Sudheer Babu, who was earlier seen in the investigative thriller Hunt this year, starred in a triple role for the first time with his recent release, Maama Mascheendra. Eesha Rebba and Mirnalini Ravi played the female leads in the film that marked the directorial debut of noted actor-writer Harsha Vardhan. Puskur Ram Mohan and Suniel Narang produced the film under Sree Venkateswara Cinemas.
The film earned mixed responses from audiences and critics upon its release in theatres on October 6. Within two weeks of its release, the crime comedy is now out on OTT. Two leading streaming platforms - Amazon Prime Video and aha - have acquired the post-theatrical digital rights to the film and decided to premiere it this Friday, October 20.
Harsha Vardhan, Ali Reza, Rajeev Kanakala, Hari Teja, Ajay, and Mirchi Kiran played supporting roles in the film. The film takes off with Parasuram murdering his father and stepmother, citing them as the reasons behind his mother’s death. After learning that his maternal uncle is in control of his mother’s property, Parasuram marries a woman who’s a daughter-like figure to the former.
Parasuram later asks his assistant Ramadasu to wreak havoc on the lives of his uncle’s son Prasad. However, his idea isn’t executed as per plan, and Prasad’s sons, Durga and DJ, turn out to be lookalikes of Parasuram. What connects their destinies? Watch Maama Mascheendra to learn more. Chaitan Bharadwaj has composed the music for the film presented by Srishti Celluloid.
PG Vinda cranked the camera for the film, whose background score is composed by Praveen Lakkaraju. Popular technician Marthand K Venkatesh edited the film. Vijay Binnu and Bhanu Master choreographed the songs in Maama Mascheendra. The stunts in the film are supervised by Wingchun Anji. Sudheer Babu will be seen in a father-son drama titled Maa Nanna Superhero later this year.
