Lust Stories 2: Kajol to go 'bold' in Amit Sharma’s segment of the Netflix anthology?

Kajol’s last film appearance had been in Netflix’s Tribhanga, which also marked her digital debut and her debut with the streaming giant. Now it seems that the actress is returning to Netflix yet again, this time as a part of the sequel to Lust Stories. It was reported that Kajol will star in a segment of the upcoming anthology film, helmed by Amit Sharma.

According to a report in Peeping Moon, Kajol has already wrapped up filming her part of the segment last month in Uttar Pradesh. The actress had reportedly shot for 10 days, completing her schedule on time as planned by the makers. A source told the portal that Kajol will essay a ‘bold’ role in the segment, unlike which she had never done before, which had excited the actress a lot.

The source added that in addition to Amit, R Balki, Sujoy Ghosh, and Konkona Sen Sharma would also direct segments of the upcoming four part anthology. Amit and Konkona had reportedly finished filming their stories, whereas Balki and Sujoy are yet to start on their segments. The sequel would reportedly revolve around ‘real’ stories of ‘real’ women who are unapologetic about their desires and imperfections, and try to follow their hearts. The stories would explore themes of love, lust, status and power. The original Lust Stories, which had segments helmed by Karan Johar, Anurag Kashyap, Zoya Akhtar and Dibakar Banerjee, can be streamed on Netflix.

Amit is also awaiting the release of his upcoming film Maidaan, which stars Kajol’s husband Ajay Devgn. Kajol is currently working on a yet to be titled series for Disney+Hotstar. The show, which marks her web series debut, is directed by Suparn S. Varma of Family Man season 2 fame. The actress is also working on Salaam Venky, helmed by Revathi.
