Filmmaker Arunraja Kamaraj’s much-awaited debut web series, Label, is now streaming on Disney+ Hotstar. The 10-episode series stars Jai, Tanya Hope, Mahendran, Harishankar Narayanan, Subatra Robert and Suresh Chakravarthy, among others. Label is an insightful exploration of Article 20 of the Indian Constitution, the show centres on the main character portrayed by Jai, as he struggles with the social stereotypes imposed on him, and works towards proving his identity.

Starring Pankaj Tripathi, Vikrant Massey, Jackie Shroff, Anupriya Goenka and Mita Vashisht, the series follows the life of individuals on a gut-wrenching journey through the criminal justice system. The three-season series has been appreciated for its compelling screenplay and the actors’ incredible performances.

2. Trial By Fire

Trial By Fire is a crime drama television series, written by Prashant Nair and Kevin Luperchio. Helmed by Prashant Nair, Randeep Jha and Avani Deshpande, the series features Rajshri Deshpande, Abhay Deol, Ashish Vidyarthi, Anupam Kher, Rajesh Tailang, Ratna Pathak, Shilpa Shukla and Shardul Bharadwaj in pivotal roles. This seven-episode series is an adaptation of the book Trial by Fire: The Tragic Tale of the Uphaar Fire Tragedy, written by Neelam Krishnamoorthy and Shekhar Krishnamoorthy.

3. Guilty Minds

Directed by Shefali Bhushan, this eight-episode series features Shriya Pilgaonkar, Varun Mitra, Sugandha Garg, Kulbhushan Kharbanda and Satish Kaushik in lead roles. The plot revolves around Kashaf (Shriya), Deepak (Varun) and Vandana (Sugandha) - three friends who attended law school together and often find themselves as adversaries in court. Deepak works for a prestigious law firm, while Kashaf and Vandana handle class action and humanitarian cases. Each episode of Guilty Minds delves into sensitive subjects and illustrates how these issues impact the personal values and lives of the main characters

4. The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha

Streaming on: Disney+ Hotstar

The Trial: Pyaar, Kaanoon, Dhokha is a legal drama series available on Disney+ Hotstar. Directed by Suparn Verma, with Kajol in the lead role, it is an adaptation of the popular American series The Good Wife, created by Robert King and Michelle King. The show revolves around a homemaker who, after a decade, decides to re-enter the workforce at a law firm to provide for her family when her husband is incarcerated.

5. Your Honor

Streaming on: SonyLIV

Your Honour is an Indian adaptation of the Israeli series Kvodo. Starring Jimmy Shergill, the show is helmed by Eeshwar Nivas. It maintains the original’s suspense while exploring Indian themes like family values and judicial corruption. The plot revolves around Judge Bishan Khosla (Jimmy) in Ludhiana, who compromises his principles when his son gets involved in a hit-and-run case with a gangster’s son.
