Loved Prithviraj in Cold Case? Here’s what the Malayalam star recommends you to watch on OTTs

Malayalam star Prithviraj Sukumaran has always been vocal about his support for digital platforms. He recently made his OTT debut with the horror-thriller Cold Case, which is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video. When OTTplay caught up with the actor to know his recommendations, he said, “There is so much brilliant content out there. I have been catching up on shows very late.” However, he did tell us his recent favourites, one of which he was approached to be part of a few years ago.

Kate Winslet stars as detective Mare Sheheen, who investigates the murder of a girl and the disappearance of another in a small town near Philadelphia. As she struggles to crack the case, the townsfolk begin doubting the skills of the detective, who was once hailed a hero. Amid this, she has her own personal problems to deal with.

The third collaboration of Fahadh Faasil, director Dileesh Pothan and scriptwriter Syam Pushkaran after Maheshinte Prathikaram and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum is a modern reimagining of Shakespeare’s MacBeth. Set in the high ranges of Kerala, the film revolves around what happens in a family after its domineering patriarch has a cardiac arrest, leaving his sons the opportunity to rise up.

This hard-hitting show revolves around a cynical cop who is assigned a murder-attempt case, but in the process gets dragged into the deeper, darker realms of the underworld in East Delhi. “I recently watched Paatal Lok, which I thought was brilliant. I remember reading its script a long time ago,” said Prithviraj.

The Academy Award-winning film narrates the tale of a Korean family who moves to the US to chase the American dream. While struggling to adjust to the immigrant life in Arkansas, they also find strength in each other and their roots as they create a new home. The slice-of-life tale is poignant and funny, and reminds you of the value of family and home.
