A Kannada film that came to theatres way back in October last year is finding its way on to OTT. Love, a romantic drama directed by Mahesha C Ammalidoddy, which features newbies Prajay Jayram and Vrusha Patil in the lead, will be on Namma Flix shortly. The film, which centres on inter faith romance begins streaming on the platform on April 19.
When it released, Love had received fairly positive feedback for the performances of the cast, decent story-telling and cinematography, among others. Written by Mahesha, Love is based on a real-life story and follows the romance of a Hindu boy and a Muslim girl, which gets labelled Love Jihad.
Prajay Jayram plays Swastik, who falls in love with Vrusha Patil’s Zoya. Despite their varied backgrounds and potential conflicts arising from the bond, the duo embarks on a relationship. As expected, there is opposition from their respective families and then, one fine day, Zoya goes missing. Does her family have a hand in her disappearance? This and more is part of Mahesha’s narrative.
The film was shot across locations in Coorg, Bengaluru, Udupi and Kundapura, with cinematographer Siddarth HR’s camera work receiving a lot of praise. Love is the latest addition to Namma Flix’s new film library, which also includes titles like Melody Drama, Nodadha Putagalu, Rudri, Onti Bunty Love Story, Electronic City, School Days, Eradu Saavirada Ippattu Gopikeyaru, among others.
The streamer also has an extensive collection of Rajkumar, V Ravichandran, Vishnuvardhan and Ambareesh hits among others. Also available are films like Darshan’s Kalasipalya, Sudeep’s Kiccha and Gooli, Upendra’s Auto Shankar, Shivarajkumar’s Thavarina Siri and Simhada Mari.
