Love Jihad: Director Bash Mohammed reveals about Suraj Venjaramoodu’s role in family drama

Filmmaker Bash Mohammed is quite a popular name in the industry today, especially after the movie Lukka Chuppi. As he is gearing up to release his upcoming movie Love Jihad, the audience is expecting nothing less than a full-time entertainer. The movie has cast several prominent names including Suraj Venjaramoodu, Siddique, Lena, Meera Nandan, and Gayathri Arun as well. In an exclusive chat with Times of India, the director opened up about his upcoming movie, spilling some beans.

Set in Dubai, the movie revolves around two middle-class expatriate families of different religions, according to him. He further explained the movie’s plot to be an inter-faith love story involving the families. He also added that the story will be relatable to all mothers. 

Explaining about the veteran actor Suraj Venjaramoodu, the director revealed that the actor will be seen as an insurance agent, who is also a loving husband in the movie. The realistic family drama is expected to bring out Suraj’s impeccable performance, as he has been doing for the recent past. He also added that the movie is performance-oriented, which adds strong affirmation to the former assumption. 

Mohammed seems to be a huge fan of the Hollywood director Woody Allen, who tells drama stories based on strong relationships. He revealed that he would love to do the same, which is visible in his previous movie Lukka Chuppi. “Love Jihad is a very realistic family drama and the concept that ‘Love Jihad’ holds is very broad,” he added while speaking to the national daily.

The filmmaker also made some interesting revelations and talked about his plans for the Lukka Chuppi sequel. The scripting works are almost done, and the team is currently in the stage of discussion, he said.

Meanwhile, the first look poster of Love Jihad was recently unveiled by the team, which featured Suraj, Siddique, Gayathri, Lena and Meera. Further details about the movie are expected to be out very soon.
