The upcoming TV series, Lootere, brings together Rajat Kapoor and Deepak Tijori for the first time. The story of the series is said to be inspired by a real-life incident, wherein an Indian ship was hijacked by some dangerous Somalian pirates.

Lootere is set to release on March 22, 2024, only on Disney+ Hotstar. Hansal Mehta is the showrunner of Lootera, which is directed by his son Jai Mehta. Teaser of Lootere
Yesterday, Hotstar dropped the teaser of Lootere, that gave viewers a sneak-peek into the tumultuous events that unfold in a hijacked ship in the middle of the ocean. Somalia’s pirates and the lawless crimes will definitely make your heart pound. Dangerous events like fighting for survival in the middle of the sea and sentimental dialogues struck a chord among netizens. Lootere stars Rajat Kapoor of Kapoor & Sons fame, Deepak Tijori, who had appeared in Shah Rukh Khan's Anjaam; Vivek Gomber, and Amruta Khanvilkar, among others.
Plot
According to the official synopsis, Lootere narrates the tale of Jadhav and his family, who migrate from Bihar to Kenya’s Molo on a ship. But in the middle of the sea, the entire family gets entangled with heinous crimes and violence. Just when Jadhav gives up fighting with the pirates, a hero-like man saves them including all the other passengers.
Interestingly, the teaser also shows a tale of romance and desperation of Vivek Gomber, where he tries the best possible way to collect all his money while crying into Amruta Khanvilkar’s shoulder.
The makers first teased viewers with Lootere way back in 2022. That time the teaser opened with a picture of a ship in the middle of a sea, and some pirates were seen trying hard to get into the ship while struggling on small boats.
